Celebrates the life of Gregory DeWayne Johnson (April 19, 1980 – October 14, 2008), known by his artist name Bama Gee, a gifted musician who published a CD and performed at West End Day.

Honors Johnson's legacy of generosity and compassion; his family organizes an annual fund-raising picnic during his birthday month of April dedicated to supporting the homeless.

Recognizes Johnson's educational and professional accomplishments including graduation from West End High School Class of 1998, attendance at Stillman College in the Tigers Marching Band, and employment as a railroad engineer and conductor for CSX Railroad.

Acknowledges Johnson's family members assisting with the fund-raiser: brothers Gabriel D. Johnson and Mario S. Johnson, and mother Pamela S. Johnson, who honor his memory by giving back to the community.

The April 17, 2010 fund-raiser will collect donations and useful items to be distributed to those in need, with the Legislature extending highest tribute to Johnson and those keeping his memory alive.
