AL HJR201

Creates a Joint Interim Legislative Committee on Gaming composed of five members from each house, appointed by the presiding officer of each house.

Committee membership shall reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban and rural, and economic diversity of the state, with chair and vice chair elected by members at the first meeting.

Committee shall study all facets of the gaming industry in Alabama including electronic bingo, may invite gaming experts to address the committee, and possesses subpoena power.

Committee shall report findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the Legislature no later than the fifth legislative day of the 2011 Regular Session, then dissolve.

Total committee expenditures shall not exceed $5,000, with members receiving regular legislative compensation, per diem, and travel expenses, except when the Legislature is in session or members are receiving other state payments on the same dates.
