Commends Gaylan and Angie Shelly of Atmore as the 2009 Outstanding Young Farm Family of Alabama, an award presented during the Alabama Farmers Federation's 88th Annual Meeting in December 2009.

Recognizes the Shelly farm operation encompassing 350 acres of cotton, 750 acres of corn, and 1,400 acres of soybeans, with increased profitability over two years through addition of grain storage facilities and a trucking business.

Notes the couple's family values, with Gaylan farming alongside his father in Escambia County, and Angie homeschooling their five children (Breah, Drew, Kaleigh, Alana, and Valen) while serving as president of the local homeschool association.

Recognizes the Shellys as exemplary representatives who will participate in activities promoting Alabama agriculture and compete at the national level as the Outstanding Young Farm Family.
