Commends the Leeds High School Green Wave football team for achieving an 11-3 record in the 2009 season, overcoming inexperience and adversity.

Recognizes the team was composed mostly of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors after 17 seniors graduated from the previous year's undefeated state championship team.

Notes the team defeated all 3A opponents in the regular season and reached the state playoffs semifinals before losing to Piedmont Bulldogs, who won the 2009 state championship.

Praises Head Coach Keith Etheredge and the players for combining hard work with teamwork, reestablishing the Green Wave as a formidable football power.
