Requests the State Health Officer to call the first meeting of the Advisory Group on Minimum Construction Standards established under Section 22-25B-8, Code of Alabama 1975.

The advisory group was created by Act 2009-773 (enacted May 22, 2009) to advise regulatory departments on minimum construction and installation standards for privately owned wastewater systems.

The advisory group is jointly overseen by the Alabama Department of Public Health, ADEM, and the PSC, with the advisory group comprising six representatives including one appointed by the Department of Public Health.

Section 22-25B-8 does not specify a procedure for calling the first meeting, and the advisory group has not yet met despite the need for its input to implement Chapter 25B regulations.

The State Health Officer is identified as the appropriate public officer to initiate the first meeting and have the advisory group begin its business.
