Recognizes Headland Police Officer Corporal Dwight Grooms as a nominee for the 2010 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On April 24, 2009, Corporal Grooms responded to a distress call in Henry County where Deputy Ted Yost had been shot twice in the face with a 12-gauge shotgun and Investigator Dexter Hammond was fatally wounded.

Corporal Grooms took a tactical position, returned fire at the assailant while maintaining cover for the two downed officers, and remained in position until the suspect was killed.

Directs that Corporal Grooms receive a copy of this resolution as a token of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
