Recognizes State Trooper Michael Gillis as a nominee for the 2010 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

Commends Trooper Gillis for his actions on March 10, 2009, during response to a mass shooting in Geneva and Coffee Counties that resulted in 10 deaths and 6 injuries, the single deadliest crime in recorded Alabama history.

Acknowledges that Trooper Gillis participated in a high-speed pursuit of the perpetrator while his vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire and he sustained injuries from broken glass, but maintained pursuit nonetheless.

Directs that Trooper Gillis receive a copy of the resolution as a token of the legislature's admiration and esteem for his courageous and selfless actions that likely saved additional victims' lives.
