House Joint Resolution mourning the death of Peggy Gill Bracken of Brewton, who passed away at age 78.

Mrs. Bracken earned a Bachelor's degree in home economics from Auburn University and taught at W.S. Neal High School until 1963, when she became county agent for the 4H program with Escambia County Extension Service, serving until her retirement in 1991.

She was an active member and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Brewton and helped establish a local parenting program that grew into the Hope Place Family Resource Center.

Mrs. Bracken is survived by her son John, daughters Karen and Melissa, five grandchildren (Timothy Cottrell, Mathew Ray, Peggy Ellen Ray, Laura Bracken, and Ben Bracken), and one great-grandchild (Hannah Cottrell).

The Legislature honors her life and extends deepest condolences to her family, recognizing her as a generous woman who made an indelible impression on her community.
