• Establishes the Task Force on the Impact of Dementia on Alabamians to study how dementia and Alzheimer's disease affect Alabama residents.

• Task Force membership includes chairs of House and Senate Health Committees, directors/commissioners of Mental Health, Public Health, Senior Services, Medicaid Agency, and Human Resources departments, plus representatives from medical associations, nursing facilities, assisted living, adult day services, probate judges, and community-based Alzheimer support organizations.

• Governor appoints members including one person with Alzheimer's disease, one caregiver, a disease researcher, and at least four representatives from community-based Alzheimer support organizations, with membership required to reflect racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity.

• Task Force must report to the Legislature by the 2nd legislative day of the 2011 Regular Session on diversity compliance and submit final findings and recommendations by the 5th legislative day of 2011, after which the committee dissolves.

• Members serve without compensation with total committee expenditures not to exceed $5,000.
