Urges the United States Congress to appropriate $3 million in federal funding for the Alabama Farmers Market Renovation and Revitalization project for Fiscal Year 2011.

Project involves renovating the 54-year-old Alabama Farmers Market by demolishing three sheds and replacing them with refrigeration-equipped structures to handle perishables including meat and fish.

Planned improvements include adding 25,000 square feet of tomato packing space to meet USDA standards and 38,800 square feet of additional space for farmers to sell products.

Project has secured $1 million in existing commitments: $200,000 from Jefferson County Truck Growers Association, $300,000 from Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries, and $500,000 from City of Birmingham for road construction.

Resolution directs that copies be provided to each member of Alabama's Congressional Delegation.
