Congratulates the Athens Bible School Lady Trojans Softball Team on winning the Class 1A State Championship in 2008.

The team defeated Millry 3-0 in the State Championship Game.

Abbie Melvin was named Tournament Most Valuable Player, with Kerri Pender, Christina Ivey, and Haley Chittam selected as All-State players.

Head Coach Toney Vining led the team to prepare for championship performance by scheduling games against larger schools in higher classifications (Class 4A, 5A, and 6A).

The House of Representatives extends heartfelt good wishes to the team members, coaches, families, and friends for their future endeavors.
