Records the death of Mr. Johnny Davis, a distinguished Alabama educator from Mobile, with deep sadness and offers condolences to his family.

Honors Davis's induction into the Stillman College Educator Hall of Fame and his service as chair of Baker High School English Department for more than 16 years.

Recognizes his curriculum development work for 11th Grade English in the Mobile Public School System and his service as supervising teacher for student teachers from Mobile College and University of South Alabama.

Acknowledges his leadership as president of the Escambia County Retired Teachers Association, president of the Alabama Retired Teachers Association, and six-year member of the National Education Resolutions Committee.

Recognizes his educational credentials including a Bachelor's Degree in English and American History from Stillman College (cum laude), a Master's Degree in English Education, and an Education Specialist Degree in Education Leadership, as well as the NEA Retired Distinguished Service Award for 2006 and Teacher of the Year honors.
