Commends Tuskegee University's Golden Tigers basketball team for winning their first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Tournament Championship in 31 years.

Tuskegee defeated top-seeded Clark University of Atlanta 61-57 on March 6, 2010, at Forbes Arena in Atlanta, with the game decided by a free throw with four seconds remaining.

Freshman Calvin Thomas was named Most Valuable Player with 16 points, and junior Lorell Friend scored 15 points including the clinching free throw.

The team finished the season with a 20-10 record, marking the first time since the 1981-1982 season they reached 20 wins and their first championship title since 1979; Coach Leon Douglas won his second SIAC championship.

The Alabama House of Representatives honors and commends Tuskegee University for the achievement and offers congratulations and best wishes for the future.
