Congratulates Sumter County High School Girls Basketball Team for winning the 2010 Class 3A State Championship with a 53-50 victory over Madison Academy on February 26, 2010.

Team compiled a 26-3 record for the 2009-2010 season and achieved the goals of becoming 3A Area 6 Champions, 3A Central Sub-Region Tournament Champions, and 3A State Tournament Champions.

Team was led by Head Coach Eddie Jackson and Assistant Coaches Edith Scott and Winnie Presswood, with a 16-member roster.

This marks the second 3A State Championship for Sumter County High School, with the first championship won in 1978 under Coach Bobbie Pope.

House of Representatives honors the school and directs a copy of the resolution be presented to Principal Richard Kelly.
