HR 718 Summary

• Urges the Alabama Tourism Department to develop an online music poll on its website by October 1, 2010, in recognition of 2011 being declared the Year of Music.

• Poll shall allow Alabamians to vote and select their preferences for Official State Song, Official State Anthem, favorite musician, favorite song about Alabama, and favorite performer from Alabama by April 1, 2011.

• Requires the Tourism Department to tabulate and publish poll results in coordination with the Tourism and Travel Committee of the Alabama House of Representatives.

• Directs that a copy of the resolution be delivered to the Director of the Alabama Tourism Department.
