Commends Representative Butch Taylor for outstanding service as a member of the Tennessee Valley Caucus of the Alabama House of Representatives.

Tennessee Valley Caucus was formed on March 31, 2005, and has served as the unified voice for Tennessee Valley region interests in the Alabama Legislature for five years.

Caucus successfully passed Tennessee River Protection Acts for multiple counties and secured $3 million in TVA in-lieu-of-tax money through Act 2006-655.

In 2010, the Caucus passed House Bill 44, a 5 percent TVA recapture bill that returns approximately $6 million to the Tennessee Valley for education, mental health, fire protection, law enforcement, and infrastructure improvements.

Representative Taylor's leadership helped the Caucus achieve previously unattainable goals through collective legislative action rather than individual efforts.
