Commends Representative Thomas L. "Tommy" Sherer as the outstanding member of the Alabama House of Representatives during the 2006-2010 quadrennium.

Sherer was first elected in 2002 and represents House District 13 in Walker County.

Holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University, Master's degree in Music Education from Samford University, and Education Specialist degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham; retired from 32-year education career in June 2002.

Served as past president of the Kiwanis Club, past chairman of the Mental Health Association, member of Sons of the American Legion, and deacon at First Baptist Church of Jasper.

Resolution recognizes Sherer's exceptional public service and tireless efforts to improve the lives of all Alabamians.
