Honors Dean Tommie H. Stewart and Alabama State University's College of Visual and Performing Arts for receiving full five-year accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) in 2010.

Notes that ASU was one of only eight applicants out of 86 major colleges and universities to receive full NAST accreditation in 2010.

Recognizes that ASU is now one of five Historically Black Colleges and Universities with an accredited theatre program.

Acknowledges the theatre department's long history of national recognition for quality and its graduates' successful careers under Dr. Stewart's leadership.
