AL SB100

Amends Section 11-90-2 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to allow county commissions and municipal governing bodies to appoint additional members to public library boards beyond the existing five-member requirement.

Maintains existing staggered initial terms for the base five members: one year, two years, three years, and two four-year terms, with all subsequent appointments limited to four-year terms.

Permits appointing authorities to determine initial terms for any additional members appointed under the new provision, not to exceed four years.

Establishes that all member terms after initial appointments may not exceed four years.

Takes effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
