AL SB101

Amends Section 11-42-5 of the Alabama Code to ratify and validate municipal annexations completed prior to the act's effective date, even if procedural defects occurred.

Requires that the annexation procedure must have been completed in compliance with the substantive requirements of the applicable annexation statute.

Excludes annexations that were previously held invalid by the Alabama Supreme Court, Court of Civil Appeals, or circuit court with no timely appeal taken.

Excludes annexations where validity is currently at issue in a pending action commenced before the act's effective date.

Does not alter provisions of Article 5, Section 11-49-80 regarding municipal responsibility for roads annexed under certain circumstances.
