• Amends Alabama Code Sections 34-1A-1 and 34-1A-4 to expand definitions and licensing classifications under the Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure.

• Adds new definitions for closed circuit television systems (CCTV), electronic access control systems, and clarifies existing definitions for alarm systems, burglars alarms, central stations, and locksmiths.

• Establishes five license classifications for locksmiths and alarm system installers based on work performed: locksmith, burglar alarm, electronic access control system, closed circuit television system, and central station.

• Requires licensees to obtain appropriate classification license before performing work in each respective classification.

• Allows the board to evaluate applicant competency through board-administered examinations or examinations developed and administered by national or regional professional associations.
