SB282 Summary

• Establishes a special disabled veteran's hunting license valid on a continuous basis for veterans certified as 100 percent service-connected, permanently and totally disabled by the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs or U.S. Armed Forces.

• Requires applicants to be bona fide Alabama residents for at least six months and file an application in their county of residence with proof of disability status attached.

• Licenses replace annual resident hunting licenses but do not eliminate additional permits required for state wildlife management areas or migratory waterfowl hunting.

• Issuing officers receive a $1 fee for each license issued; licenses cannot be issued by special agents.

• Takes effect on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
