SB360 Summary

• Prohibits business entities, property owners, tenants, and public or private employers from establishing or enforcing policies that ban employees, customers, invitees, or other lawfully present persons from transporting or storing firearms and ammunition in privately owned motor vehicles.

• Applies only when firearms or ammunition are locked out of sight within the trunk, glove box, or other enclosed compartment of a privately owned motor vehicle and the person is otherwise in compliance with all applicable laws.

• Declares any policy or rule violating this provision to be null and void and contrary to public policy.

• Exempts vehicles owned by business entities, employers, or property owners when used by their agents or employees during employment, and exempts facilities and property owned or controlled by entities engaged in generation, transmission, or distribution of electricity.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
