AL SB369

Amends Alabama Code Section 30-3-194 to restrict access to public records containing personal information including home addresses, telephone numbers, and Social Security numbers.

Designates records with personal information as confidential and not subject to inspection or review without the consent of the individual, except by lawful court order.

Requires that when copies of records are released, all personal information must be redacted so it is not visible to persons viewing the records.

Maintains existing requirements that agencies collecting Social Security numbers for licenses, permits, and vital statistics records must provide such numbers to the state Title IV-D agency upon request for child support administration purposes.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
