Attorney General is authorized to direct and control all civil and criminal litigation concerning the State of Alabama, including supervision of related investigative activity.

Governor is prohibited from instituting or directing civil or criminal proceedings or investigations under Sections 12-17-184, 12-17-216, or 41-15B-2 of the Code of Alabama 1975.

Governor cannot appoint an individual through executive order or other means to institute or direct civil or criminal proceedings or investigations.

Any actions taken by the Governor prior to the effective date of this act under the prohibited authorities are declared void.

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon becoming law by other means.
