SB415 Summary

• Amends Section 12-5A-5 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to link salary subsidy reductions for juvenile probation officers in counties with populations over 99,000 to Administrative Office of Courts funding cuts.

• Requires that when the Administrative Office of Courts reduces funding by a certain percentage for state juvenile probation services, salary subsidies for juvenile probation officers in larger counties must be reduced by the same percentage.

• Applies only to counties with populations exceeding 99,000 according to the 1990 federal decennial census that have not transitioned officers to the state court system personnel system.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
