AL SB444

Allows board of trustees members, executive committee members, and members of other committees at public four-year higher education institutions to participate in meetings via telephone conference, video conference, or similar communications equipment.

Requires all persons participating in remote meetings to hear each other at the same time, and remote participation counts as physical presence for quorum purposes.

Mandates that meeting notices comply with the Alabama Open Meetings Act and that the public have simultaneous access to listen to or observe all remote meetings.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
