• Define "hospital pharmacy services permit" as authorization granted by the State Board of Pharmacy to persons, firms, or corporations offering hospital pharmacy services, excluding receipt or inventory requirements for drugs and medicines.

• Allow hospital pharmacy services permits to be issued on an annual basis with fees not exceeding $100, with qualifications and fees established by board rule.

• Permit licensed pharmacists employed by or under contract with hospitals to provide pharmacy services to hospital patients from locations outside the physical hospital pharmacy location.

• Require the State Board of Pharmacy to promulgate implementing rules within three months of the effective date, after consulting with the Alabama Society of Health System Pharmacists.

• Make the act effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval or upon becoming law through other means.
