SB528 Summary

• Allows consumer board members to vote on all matters before the Board of Examiners of Assisted Living Administrators, removing the previous restriction that limited their voting to non-licensure and non-disciplinary matters.

• Requires applicants for assisted living administrator licensure to pay an annual administrative fee as determined by the board.

• Requires persons holding expired licenses to follow all procedures for new licensure and pay a reapplication fee established by the board; expired licenses cannot be reactivated.

• Authorizes the board to discipline assisted living administrators who enter pleas of nolo contendere, nolo contender, no contender, no contest, or guilty in cases involving lewd or lascivious acts against children or adults, inappropriate sexual conduct, or any other crime carrying potential imprisonment exceeding one year.

• Effective date: first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
