SB64 Summary

• Amends Section 17-3-8, Code of Alabama 1975, to establish maximum working days for county boards of registrars based on county classification.

• Increases the DeKalb County Board of Registrars maximum meeting days from the previous limit to 207 working days each fiscal year.

• Also sets specific maximum working day limits for other Alabama counties, including Jackson and Etowah counties at 207 days, and various counties ranging from 120 to 216 days per fiscal year.

• Allows up to 25 of the allotted working days to be used for special registration sessions held outside the courthouse, on Saturdays, or during extended evening hours (5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.).

• Takes effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
