Commends Senator Hinton Mitchem for outstanding service to the Alabama State Parks System during his more than 35 years in the Legislature.

Recognizes Mitchem's work with the Joint Legislative Committee on State Parks, where he served since its founding and chaired it on three separate occasions.

Acknowledges Mitchem's efforts in securing passage of the 1998 State Parks Bond issue, which he conceived and sponsored, and his successful fight to obtain funding for the State's purchase of Cathedral Caverns.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be delivered to Senator Mitchem with the Legislature's sincere gratitude and highest esteem.
