Honors and commends Thomas Hinds for 27 years as Music Director and Conductor of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, beginning in 1983.

Recognizes Hinds' educational credentials including a Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of North Carolina (1970) and professional training at prestigious venues including the Aspen Music Festival, Boris Goldovsky Opera Institute, and Munich Philharmonic Conductors' Course.

Notes Hinds' professional experience as a bassoonist with the Alabama Symphony (1972-1982), teaching positions at the University of Alabama (1972-1974) and Samford University (1974-1976), and conducting roles with orchestras in Johnson City, Tennessee (1982-1984) and Gadsden, Alabama (1992-2001).

Acknowledges Hinds received a Music Fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts (1990) and a Governor's Arts Award (2007).

Resolution passed by the Alabama Senate on February 18, 2010 and adopted by the House of Representatives on February 23, 2010.
