Hoover High School football team won the State 6A Championship on December 4, 2009, defeating Prattville High School 28-23 at Bryant-Denny Stadium at the University of Alabama.

This is the sixth state championship for Hoover High School Football in the decade, making the Hoover Buccaneers the Class 6A "Winningest Team of the Decade."

The team finished the season with a 15-1 record under Head Coach Josh Niblett and 16 assistant coaches, with support from five team physicians and athletic staff.

The Legislature of Alabama honors and commends the Hoover High School Football team, players, coaches, and entire football organization for their success representing excellence in youth athletics.

Resolution was adopted by the Senate on March 2, 2010, and by the House of Representatives on March 3, 2010.
