Delete the requirement to provide written notice to parents/guardians before prosecution when a student's nonenrollment or nonattendance is found to be intentional and without valid reason.

Require each local superintendent of education to distribute copies of the written school attendance policy and applicable sections of the Alabama Compulsory School Attendance Law to all parents, guardians, or persons with control of enrolled children at the start of each school year.

Require parents, guardians, or other persons with control of enrolled children to sign a statement verifying they have read and received notice of the attendance policies of the state and their respective school system.

Maintain existing provisions allowing parents or guardians who voluntarily enroll their child in public school to withdraw the child at any time prior to the minimum compulsory attendance age.

Take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
