Lee County sheriff shall maintain permanent records of all abandoned and stolen firearms, including description, recovery date, serial number, and recovery location.

Sheriff may sell or destroy unclaimed firearms if the owner does not claim them within six months of acquisition.

Sheriff may sell firearms to licensed dealers within and outside Alabama through sealed bid process, with sales on cash basis only.

Net proceeds from firearm sales, after deducting recovery, maintenance, and sale expenses, shall be paid to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff may establish procedures to destroy firearms and may use sheriff department funds for that purpose.
