Amends Section 14-3-58 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to expand notification requirements when a convict escapes from Department of Corrections custody.

Requires the Department of Corrections to notify the Governor, Department of Public Safety, relevant county sheriffs, police chiefs, and all electronic media outlets within a 75-mile radius of the escape within 12 hours.

Mandates notifications include the time and circumstances of the escape, a description of the convict with a recent mug shot, the county of conviction, the offense, and when the offense occurred.

Requires the Department of Corrections to post escape notifications on its website and enter escapees into the National Crime Information Center within 12 hours.

Authorizes the Department of Corrections to offer a reward not exceeding $400 for apprehension of escaped convicts, paid from state funds upon recapture.
