Transfers employees from Bishop State Community College, Southern Union State Community College, Bevill State Community College, and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education who work in the Alabama Career Center System to the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations effective July 1, 2011.

Transferred employees become Merit System employees with all associated rights, privileges, and responsibilities under the Merit System Act.

State Personnel Department shall classify transferred employees in appropriate Merit System positions and credit their years of service with the Career Center System.

Implementation is contingent upon federal Congressional appropriation of adequate funding from the Federal Workforce Investment Act or successor act for fiscal year 2012, as determined by the Director of Finance.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2011, following passage and approval by the Governor or otherwise becoming law.
