• Prohibits public K-12 schools from maintaining membership in any private entity that has the potential to levy or collect monetary fines against member schools.

• Defines a private entity as any entity not supported by public funds, including the Alabama High School Athletic Association.

• Applies regardless of whether the private entity collects membership dues or whether fines are based on actions taken by the school, its employees, or students.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and Governor approval.
