HB633 Summary

• Amends Section 36-25-1.5 of the Alabama Code to expand the definition of "thing of value" under the Alabama Ethics Act to exclude admissions, hospitality, meals, food, and beverages provided at certain public-private facilities, except when provided to members of the Alabama Legislature.

• Requires that qualifying facilities be owned by an Alabama municipality and developed or constructed as part of an economic or community development project.

• Requires that the facility be leased to a for-profit business entity that makes rent payments to the owner and/or payments affected by facility revenues.

• Requires that no particular course of action be required as a condition for receiving the meals, food, beverages, or hospitality.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
