• Applies exclusively to the City of Northport and authorizes a local election to determine voter approval for Sunday alcoholic beverage sales.

• City governing body may call an election within 30 days of the act's effective date, with notice provided at least three weeks in advance and costs paid from the municipal general fund.

• If a majority of qualified voters approve, licensed retailers may legally sell alcoholic beverages on Sundays between 12:00 P.M. noon and 9:30 P.M., with unrestricted sales permitted after 12:00 P.M. noon on New Year's Eve (December 31).

• If voters reject the measure, alcoholic beverages may not be sold on Sunday after 2:00 A.M. unless authorized by subsequent election.

• The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor, and does not repeal any existing city powers under state or local law.
