Commends the Butler High School Rebels basketball team for winning the 2011 Class 4A state championship, defeating Anniston 44-39 at the Birmingham-Jefferson County Convention Complex.

Team posted a 32-2 season record and won their fifth AHSAA basketball championship in eight years and third consecutive title.

Trevor Lacey was named Most Valuable Player despite scoring only 13 points in the championship game after averaging 32 points per game during the season.

Head coach Jack Doss earned his seventh state title, tying legendary Coach Eugene Mason of R.C. Hatch for the most titles in state history.

Resolution directs that a copy be provided to the team with the legislature's congratulations for their achievement.
