Commends Mr. Stephen Michael Hathorne for his distinguished 39-year career in the field of education in Alabama.

Recognizes his educational credentials including a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi (1972) and a Master of Education in School Administration and Supervision from Livingston University (1977).

Acknowledges his professional service as mathematics teacher at Brewton Middle School (1972-1975), assistant principal and principal at T.R. Miller High School (1975-1988), assistant principal and principal at Homewood High School (1988-1998), and Director of Support Services for Homewood City School System (1998-2011).

Recognizes his awards including Assistant Principal of the Year (1990) and the University of Montevallo Lawrence B. Malone Outstanding Principal Award (1996), and his service in civic organizations including Homewood Rotary Club.
