House Joint Resolution mourning the death of Mrs. Ruth Helen Goad Osborn, who died on March 17, 2011, at age 88.

Mrs. Osborn was born in Anniston, Alabama and lived most of her life in Gadsden; she was a devoted member of Cherry Street Baptist Church where she served in multiple capacities including the Ruth Sunday School Class, choir, and WMU.

She worked 17 years at the W.T. Grant store, worked in the family business OSCO Mechanical Contractors, and was one of the owners of the original Fisherman Restaurant in Gadsden; she was also a member of the Gadsden Charter Chapter of ABWA.

She is survived by her son Lamar (Dottie) Osborn and daughter Babs; she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years Thomas Nunley Osborn and her parents.

The Legislature of Alabama records her death with deep sadness and offers this resolution as tribute to her life of achievement and service, with heartfelt sympathy to her family.
