• Recognizes the 19th Annual Delta Day at the Alabama State Capitol on Thursday, April 14, 2011, and commends Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

• Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University and has grown to over 250,000 members in more than 960 chapters across the United States and abroad.

• The sorority follows a Five Point Program focusing on Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.

• Honors Delta Sigma Theta members serving in the Alabama Legislature including Senator Linda Coleman and Representatives Laura Hall, Merika Coleman, Mary Moore, Pebblin Warren, and Dr. Yvonne Kennedy (19th National President).
