Commends Michael Onderdonk for receiving the 2011 Humanitarian Award of the Alabama Library Association in recognition of his commitment to literacy, education, and library services.

Recognizes Onderdonk's 23 years of service on the Washington County Public Library Board of Directors and Foundation Board, and his role as an original founder of Friends of the WCPL.

Notes that the Annual Art Auction hosted by Friends of the WCPL has generated more than $450,000 for library operations and that Onderdonk secured funds for the county's library building two decades prior.

Highlights Onderdonk's previous service as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives representing District 65, where he prioritized library services, and his past awards including Pillar of the Community Award and Lifetime Achievement Award from multiple Washington County organizations.

House adopted the resolution on April 19, 2011, and the Senate adopted it on April 21, 2011.
