Recognizes Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Deputy Scott Taylor as a nominee for the 2011 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

On April 19, 2010, Deputy Taylor exposed himself to gunfire approximately 30 feet away to provide cover for retreating officers during an arrest warrant service.

Deputy Taylor fired multiple rounds at an armed suspect who was sweeping a .45 caliber pistol looking for officers to shoot, striking him center mass and forcing him to drop the weapon.

Deputy Taylor has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since September 1999 and has received many commendations for outstanding service to Tuscaloosa County.

The House adopted the resolution on April 27, 2011, and the Senate adopted it on May 3, 2011, directing that Deputy Taylor receive a copy as a token of admiration and esteem.
