Honors and commends United States Army Specialist Carter M. Patterson for his distinguished and dedicated service to the country.

Recognizes Specialist Patterson's assignment to the 1307th Explosive Hazard Coordination Cell as a Combat Engineer certified in Route Clearance.

Acknowledges his training including the R2C2 Sapper Course, Explosive Hazard Tracker Course, and Warrior Leadership Course, as well as his Certified Combat Life Saver certification and Army Achievement Medal.

Notes his scheduled deployment on May 2, 2011, to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan for one year.
