Commends Elvin Hill Elementary School children and Mrs. Carol Hill of Columbiana, Alabama for their thoughtfulness and generosity to Phil Campbell Elementary School.

Phil Campbell Elementary School's playground was destroyed in the April 27, 2011 tornado outbreak, prompting students at Elvin Hill Elementary to conduct fund-raising efforts to help restore it.

Students initially set a $500 goal to replace one piece of equipment, which was met and doubled, raising enough funds for possible replacement of the entire playground.

The initial idea came from Mrs. Carol Hill, wife of Representative Mike Hill, with the final donation made by Representative Hill's father, for whom Elvin Hill Elementary School is named.

Phil Campbell Elementary School sustained two student deaths and one teacher death in the tornado; the resolution extends commendations to those who exceeded the goal of helping restore the tornado-damaged playground.
