Honors the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) on its 30th anniversary since enabling legislation was passed in 1981 by Governor Fob James.

Recognizes AMEA's 11 member cities: Alexander City, Dothan, Fairhope, Foley, LaFayette, Lanett, Luverne, Opelika, Piedmont, Sylacauga, and Tuskegee.

Commends AMEA for providing low-cost power supply, value-added services including distribution support, regulatory compliance, and economic development programs to its members over 30 years.

Acknowledges AMEA's innovation in exploring electric generation options, including the Alabama Direct FuelCell Demonstration Project, the AMEA-Sylacauga Plant, and renewable hydropower projects.

Expresses the Legislature's congratulations and well-wishes for AMEA's future success in meeting growing energy needs of member cities and their citizens.
