HR209 - Mourning the Death of Judge David Barnes

• Judge David Barnes of Birmingham, Alabama died on March 25, 2011, at age 67.

• Judge Barnes served as first Dean of Miles College School of Law, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama, member of the Alabama State House of Representatives, and Municipal Judge for Birmingham.

• Born December 29, 1943, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Miles College and a Law Degree from Texas Southern University, and served in the United States Army.

• He was a lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church of Collegeville, served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, and was an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

• The House of Representatives records his death with deep sadness and offers this resolution in tribute to his life and sympathy to his surviving three children, three grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers, and other family members.
